Obviously, if you’re going to eat meat this is the way to do it. Still, I’ve always found the idea of “giving thanks” to an animal when you kill it to be kind of weird and self-serving. After all, it’s not like the animal has a choice.

Some thoughts on this video. The Turkey farmer does seem to be trying to treat the animals with dignity. And that is nothing to disparage in this age of factory farming.
Another thought that springs to mind is that our society has completely sanitized meat and meat consumption. I have friends who refuse to meat with bones especially poultry because it reminds them that they are indeed eating an animal.
