I agree that Christians should drink beer (I mean, if they want to). But I’m not sure they need to put this much thought into it. Surely what the world needs now is not legions of hipster Christian beer snobs.

I agree with your sentiments. While it’s clear that the article is tongue-in-cheek, it’s not clear whether the writer was being intentionally ironic or just pompously “against the grain.”
A quote from the end of that post:
“You will find this richness in the taste of the beer and nachos, the softness and comfort of the warm room, the laughing and shining faces around you, the wisdom and truth of the words spoken, and the power of a community animated by the Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
I have no problem with the various arguments in favor of æsthetic pleasures, but I would prefer that most people leave “wisdom” and “truth” out of this, let alone the Holy Spirit. It’s just bad rhetoric.
Yeah, that dude is wack.
I mean, seriously, why “ensur[e] that your beer is cold”? Real beer is best slightly chilled, not really “cold.”
I’ll go with his beer but put it with your music. 🙂
“legions of hipster Christian beer snobs”
HEY! I resemble that remark!
Well, except for the hipster part. I don’t like scarves.
