Lutheran church holds “Worship with the Beatles.”
Gag. At least U2 sings about Jesus sometimes.

Like much of the Establishment at the time I enjoy the Beatles but this is stupid – and one more boomer-nostalgia thing for the kids to scorn as they write off church.
I wish the reporter would have asked how a Beatles-themed worship service fits within the teachings, tradition or theology of the church. Nowhere does the pastor say or does the reporter ask WHY a church would do such a service – the only reason cited in the article is nostalgia.
Yeah, nostalgia. That’s what we’re about in the church.
Give me a break.
Like it or not, nostalgia is what worship is about most of the time anyway, so why not?
On a related note, a friend who used to attend our church once suggested an all Dylan worship service, to bring in youngher people. Yeah.
