I was only eight years old at the time, but when George H. W. Bush was running for office, he came to my dinky hometown of Merced, California with Chuck Norris and two of the Beach Boys. They sang a modified version of one of their own songs that went something like, “I’m pickin’ up Bush vibrations…”
If I were about 8 years older than I was, I might have picked up on how sexually that could also be construed.
