I’ve really been enjoying the AV Club’s series “Whatever Happened to Alternative Nation?” It looks at the rise (and fall) of 90s alternative rock. The most recent installment on Kurt Cobain’s suicide and its aftermath is particularly good. (And I agree that Soundgarden is underrated!)

Whereas I will agree that Soundgarden was a great band, when I saw Chris Cornell perform a couple of years ago, he was terrible. Awful. Zero energy, absolutely seemed like he was going through the motions. It was probably the worst concert I thought I was going to enjoy.

Yeah, Chris Cornell’s solo “career” has been mostly an embarassment.
