11 o’clock Eastern time: Well, looks like it’s all over but the crying. No significant election blogging for me, but I just want to give a shout-out to my home state of Pennsylvania. All those people who said that awful Appalachian rednecks would tip the state to McCain will be eating their words tomorrow. I never doubted you, PA.
Congratulations, Senator Obama – you’ve got a tough row to hoe. Hope you’re up for it!
Of course, California went for Obama, but what I was proud of was that my home of Merced County in the central San Joaquin Valley–which is the ‘red’ part of the state–actually went for Obama! Looking at the county map of votes in CA shows that all the neighboring (and more well-known) counties (Fresno, Madera, etc.) all swung toward McCain. Here’s for shout-outs to our homes.
