A Thinking Reed

Roman holiday

Blogging will be more-or-less nonexistent over the next week or so as the missus and I are headed off to Italy! I’m very excited, never having made it to continental Europe before now.

Almost as exciting is the fact that I’ll miss the inevitable blog-mania surrounding the release of the Da Vinci Code movie.

I should be back to blogging sometime toward the end of May. And maybe with pictures from the trip.

  1. Have a great time! My wife and I spent part of a summer studying abroad in Italy and loved it (needless to say). Be sure to post pictures!

  2. Visit Gaeta if you can. It’s a train ride from Roma to Formia, then a bus.

This is the best time of year to be going to Italy. The beaches should be clean; the weather will be warm but not hot; Italians are still, um, “working”, 😉 and there haven’t been so many tourists that they’ve grown tired of them.

On the other hand, there haven’t been so many tourists that the pickpocket industry is on strike, either. Be careful 🙂

  3. Wow. I envy you.

    Have a great time.
