FFL and the pro-life movement

Much has been made of the fact that Supreme Court nominee John Roberts’ wife Jane has been affiliated with Feminists for Life. For some its a welcome (or unwelcome) confirmation of where Roberts himself may stand on the issue of abortion (side note: how good are a spouse’s political views or affiliations as a predictor of someone’s political views anyway? I know my wife and I have a considerable area of disagreement on politics!). For others it indicates that the Roberts may represent a kinder, gentler face of the pro-life movement.
