Among the Living

Legendary thrash metal pioneers (and, yes, one of my all-time favorite bands) Anthrax are putting back together their original lineup (well, not their original original lineup – their first album, Fistful of Metal, featured singer Neil Turbin, rather than Joey Belladonna, the singer during the band’s glory years).

However, contrary to what one might think, Anthrax has been quite active in the years since Joey Belladonna left the band. In fact, the albums featuring former Armored Saint singer John Bush (i.e. Sound of White Noise, Stomp 442, Volume 8: The Threat Is Real and 2003’s We’ve Come for You All) were among the band’s finest, in this fan’s opinion. Which is not to slight the greatness of such albums as Among the Living, State of Euphoria, and Persistence of Time.

It’ll be interesting to see what they get up to with the re-united lineup. New album? It also appears that they’re going to working to raise public awareness of what they deem to be the danger of the anthrax vaccine!
